Matar
Paneer Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup paneer,
cut into cubes
1 cup green
peas (matar)
2
medium-sized onions, finely chopped
2
medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
1 tablespoon
ginger-garlic paste
2-3 green
chilies, slit lengthwise
1/2 teaspoon
cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon
turmeric powder
1 teaspoon
coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon
red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon
garam masala powder
2 tablespoons
oil
Salt to taste
Water as
needed
Coriander
leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
Heat oil in a
pan and add cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle.
Add onions
and green chilies and sauté till onions turn golden brown.
Add
ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook till they turn mushy.
Add turmeric
powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix
well.
Add green
peas and cook for 5 minutes.
Add paneer
cubes and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add water as
needed to adjust the consistency of the gravy.
Cook for 2-3
more minutes or till the gravy thickens.
Garnish with
coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
