Pan Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup
all-purpose flour
2
tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/4 teaspoon
salt
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2
tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
Butter or
oil for cooking
Instructions:
In a large
bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a
separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla
extract.
Pour the wet
ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined (do not
overmix).
Heat a
non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of
butter or oil to the skillet to grease it.
Pour 1/4 cup
of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface
of the pancake, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown.
Repeat with
the remaining batter, adding more butter or oil to the skillet as needed.
Serve the
pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, or fruit.
